Quinto Lounge

Quinto Lounge

Sutton ColdfieldWest Midlands

Recommended by Delboy 20

Fairly standard example from the Loungers chain. Odd and brightly coloured furniture. Nothing on the ale front so a quick half of Goose Island IPA (£2.50 half) before moving on.
Slug & Lettuce

Typical Slug & Lettuce with the usual array of lagers. My choice would have been Hophouse but it was off. Settled for an Estrella and moved on. Not my kind of place.

I remember drinking in here when it was The Cup a few years ago. I have visited a few times and I like this chain. I went for the Marksman and 004 Oaks. Both were excellent. Well worth a visit.

Nice little back street boozer just off the main road. Wye Valley HPA, Rev James, 61 Deep and Abbotts on offer when I called in. The HPA was fine. Worth a visit.

Rocksalt-on-Sea was busy with every table taken when I decided to pop in on Saturday afternoon. People of all ages were in attendance and the vast majority were eating, which is this venue’s major draw as It advertises itself as a bar and brasserie. ... [more>]

Dick Whittington's has reopened after a short period of closure. They are now a mostly cider pub with a wide selection of ciders from the Severn Cider Brewery, which is based in Awre Gloucestershire. Although successfully established as a brewery, th... [more>]
The Station Hotel

The Station Hotel

A rather dark-painted bar with something of a nightclub feel, situated opposite the station as the name suggests. It seems a lot smaller than it appears from outside, with a large side passageway feeling as though it ought to lead somewhere other tha... [more>]

Admiral Benbow

A comfortable old pub just off the town centre which is mainly open in the evenings and has a laid-back sort of feel, added to by the candlelight. A fair selection of changing ales, mainly local, are on handpump, plus a cider.
The Coach & Horses

The Coach & Horses

Just off the town centre, this a fairly cosy sort of pub with some nice old features. Half a dozen ales and a cider or two can be had from the tiled front bar, and a smaller bar behind which has a large restaurant area to the rear. Quite pleasant.
Three Fishes

An old half-timbered building but the bar has been refurbished up to a hotel lounge style. A good atmosphere though, with conversation leading, and a reasonable selection of ales including a mild (Highgate M&B) in good order.

Splendid aged and timbered pub with several wood-panelled rooms arranged round the central corridor in true antique fashion. Proved excellent for groups, with a side room making for an excellent stopping off point on the PuG crawl. A fair range of al... [more>]

Prince of Wales

A proper pub. Hidden in the terraced backstreets of Coleham is a large, high-ceilinged Victorian pub which just feels right somehow. To the rear is a large decked area overlooking its own immaculate bowling green. Ales on offer were Hobsons Mild and ... [more>]
Cross Foxes

Cross Foxes

A proper locals' pub with 1980's-sytyle banquettes and rough-plastered walls giving a step back into the relatively recent past. A nice drop of Bass on offer, together with Salopian Shropshire Gold, Wood's Shropshire lad and Three Tuns XXX.
The Nag's Head

The Nag's Head

A small town pub with a fair few ales on draught. At the front is a relatively small bar, with a not-much-larger room behind and a small yard at the back. I didn't feel it was any great shakes as a pub but it was made up for by some good beers, I thi... [more>]
The Wheatsheaf

The Wheatsheaf

ShrewsburyShropshire

Recommended by Graham Coombs

A modernised shoppers' pub, with lots of grey paintwork and a distinct lack of character. Ales were from the wider Marston's range but condition seemed variable to say the least. Rather disappointing and there are much better pubs nearby.
