Alan Winfield left this review about The King John

The King John is just outside broadmarsh bus station.
Once inside there was one largish room that went back quite a way and it was fairly dimly lit, this pub used to be an Ansells tied house in the 80s and had one real ale on the bar,in more recent times the pub has had no real ale on and had a bit of a rough reputation.
This pub has been under threat of demolition for several years in anticipation of the broardmarsh redevelopment which still has'nt happened after years of planning.
The pub finally shut down in 2010 and it is still standing awaiting its fate.
