Cured is a thin bar on two floors adjacent to the canal and Carrington Street Bridge. The lower lounge downstairs was closed during a recent Wednesday evening visit so I remained in the street level bar with a handful of other customers. The bar counter runs up the left facing high stools under a beer shelf that runs along the floor to ceiling windows that overlook the water to the right. The serving counter supports premium and craft keg and one of the two hand pumps was in operation drawing Castle Rock’s Harvest Pale. I thought this was a very nice spot for a beer, even if the selection was limited. The location and friendly service would have me retuning.

I believe this was once a Raleigh bicycle shop, today it's a trendy bar but with a great location. There are a few pavement tables and chairs, inside there are some seats at the front below a blackboard describing coffee and food options. The bar is long and runs down the left of the interior ,while opposite there is a long drinking shelf with tall chairs and fine ,high views over the canal below. The interior has the distressed, bare plaster finish of so many hip bars but it's well done. The drawers on the bar front are a feature. There are two unused handpumps and two banks of 4 keg dispensers, one mainstream the other featuring 3
Beavertown brews including Neck Oil,their Lager and Gamma Ray American IPA (pricey at £5.90,better when it had warmed up).
Down a naroow flight of stairs in the canalside lounge and a decking terrace giving another great vantage point.
As I was making my notes,I wrote down that the muzak was at high volume. However when all the bar staff answered the phrase in Peaches "Stuck here the whole summer" with the retort "Well what a bummer" in unison,I just had to laugh out loud. This was followed by some great rock and pop standards and for that alone extra marks have been awarded. It's a fun bar,no good for real ale but life affirming.

Cafe bar right on the bridge over the canal in Nottingham city centre. They specialise in charcuterie boards and craft ales. Called in here on Monday afternoon and had a mixed meat and cheese charcuterie board for two and a pint of Beavertown Neckoil. Ms CAMRA had a glass of a good rose wine. They have some decking on the ground floor over the canal which is where we sat. Unusual bar which is completely made up of old drawers and friendly staff and the fact that is was very sunny made for a pleasant hour having lunch. Being a Monday the charcuterie board only cost £6.50 as a Sunak Special. Quite impressed really for this type of bar.
