Not the greatest experience but very handy for the station. I can't recall what I had to drink but it wasn't great. Plenty better options nearby!

Now an upstairs bar with a real ale room before the main area. I have never seen anybody drink in this area on my visits. Main bar on the right down a passage. No real ales, just keg. Half of the room is set out for diners. Handy for the train station.

The Bentinck Hotel was originally a Bass tied house that was very handy for the station.
Once inside there was a single oblong shaped room, the seating was comfy bench type.
The pub had a very rough reputation,it was also a big Forest pub on home days, away fans went in at their peril.

The pub finally closed down in 2013 to make way for a coffee shop.

To my surprise the Bentinck relocated into the upstairs rooms.
Once up the stairs there is a very small square shaped room off the corridor, this room is badged as the real ale room,it all looks very depressing,i asked someone in the main room about real ale,and was told they are in the real ale room, there were three pumps on the bar, with two unclipped,i had a drink of Navigation Traditional which was a decent enough drink,i refused to drink in the real ale room as it was so boring,i went into the main room which has lots of windows which overlook carrington street and station street, there is a bar in this room but no pumps on it.
It is nice to see the Bentinck up and running again.
