A large pub in the Sizzling chain, which at the time of our visit smelled strongly of sliced onions. Having made our selection (Sharps Doom Bar, Purity Ubu and "coming soon" were the options on the three hand pumps) we took our drinks into the back garden to escape the onions. The garden backs onto the canal, with a handsome wall, an even more handsome gate and a view of the devastatingly handsome Springfield Mill across the water to keep us entertained while supping our halves.

This is a large pub close to the middle of Sandiacre.
The Plough was a Bass tied house in the 80s and it still has Bass on the bar now, there is a large beer garden at the back of this pub and the Erewash canal runs at the bottom of this garden.
Once inside the pub is fairly smart with the lounge on the right and the bar to the left this also has a pool table in it.
The pub has been extended sideways and at the back over the years making this the largest pub in Sandiacre, the lounge is very big but it always seems hard to find a decent place to have a drink even when it is fairly quiet.
There are three pumps on the bar with Bass always on and Greene King IPA plus beers like Bombadier so its nothing exciting on the beer front.
For some strange reason they knocked a small wall seperating the bar and lounge making a narrow section between the two rooms.
