Old corner pub that’s been harshly modernised inside. Odd layout thanks to knocking through with the usual laminate flooring and navy surplus colour scheme. Walls papered in stone-a-like and decorated with a mix of sports shirts and paintings. Four pulls plus two low Ts of the national keg stock, the three cask beers on were from Ossett, Triple Point and a co-lab between Harrogate and Ossett. Quality was very average. Busy on a Saturday afternoon with a mix of customers of different ages and types. It’s got a juke box and some screens, benches and separate wooden tables, chairs and stools.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Lord Nelson
Traditional corner pub, now standing somewhat isolated from an obvious customer base in a former industrial area. Refurbished with semi-modern furniture and decor inside, but still retaining the character of a local. Old Speckled Hen and the very local Sky's Edge Gold (£1.55, half) from Triple Point available from two of the four handpumps in use when I visited.

Only my third visit here in over 20 years in Sheffield. It's a back street local in a part of town where not many people seem to live or work, but still it's a popular pub. A small street corner building that has been opened up from three or four smaller rooms, and the bar is against the wall on the left on entering, with a small seating area to its left, and others opposite. A dart board and a couple of Sheffield United shirts constitute the games room, and there is a juke box, which when I entered was pumping out some middle of the road 70s pop, but it soon calmed down. There are four hand pumps with beers from Dark Star, Acorn, Milestone and Greene King (this is a former Hardys and Hansons house). My half of Hophead was a little cold to start with but was in good condition. This is one of those pubs that aims for the style of furnishing that they expect their customers to have at home - it's smart and modern, and if you had that sort of stuff at home you'd say what's wrong with that then? Just saying.
