Busy pub close to the station with two rooms served via a central bar. Active pub with quiz, music and comedy nights plus an upstairs function room. Beers on the bar were Oakham JHB, Holdens Golden Glow and Marstons 61 Deep which we chose and it was fine. Attractive garden at the rear.

An attractive pub with a striking mural on the end wall beyond which is situated the entrance just a few steps from the station platform. This was the obvious choice for our last couple of pints before the train home however it was seriously busy on Saturday evening, we were lucky to grab a solitary high table. I imagine many of the punters were loading up here before heading into Birmingham for the night. Two rooms which link together to the rear, both served by a central bar. Lots of railway memorabilia including some nice old regional maps pre Beeching. One wall has some butterfly patterned wallpaper.
Stairs lead up to a signed function room and there is a garden somewhere but I didn't investigate either.
Four beers on handpump, Oakham Citra, Marston's 61 Deep, Shipyard Island IPA and Holden's Golden Glow which unfortunately went. The beers were all very tightly sparklered making them difficult to pour and causing quite a lot of wastage. There really is no need and the couple of pints of Citra I had tasted totally different to normal as a result. Not a bad pub nevertheless.

Excellent rambling pub next to the station (surprise surprise), opened up a little but still with great character and furnished well with worn sanded tables, waiting room soft benches and more traditional pub seating and plenty of space (unless it gets really busy).

3 extremely well kept ales, though no longer quite as original as they have been - includes Black Sheep and Landlord, which was excellent especially as this beer seems hard to keep properly in other places.
