Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Station

Real ale pub with a good reputation, very handily located as the name would suggest. Anyway, it retains a twin-bar layout, with the front one highly visible through the large windows. The rear bar has more of an alehouse look - although the music or TV screens can be at slightly more than background level - and there is a large patio beer garden at the back (illuminated at night, but again not the weather to try that out on my latest visit). Doom Bar, London Pride and a pair from Birmingham Brewing: Bitter Brummie (£5.40, expensive but excellent) and Blonde Brummie.

Quite upmarket, compared to your average nearby Railway Station pubs. This is a good sized pub, with a good sized patio area at the rear which included a large covered shed that resembled a platform building, plus a few brightly painted beach huts.
Six ales on handpump, three from Thornbridge, two Wye Valley and TT Landlord.

Our last port of call before getting the train to the match. We were pushed for time in here and I didn't note the beer selection. All I can say is that the one I had was fine! Very handy for the station and I will call again - maybe leave myself a little more time!

Busy pub close to the station with two rooms served via a central bar. Active pub with quiz, music and comedy nights plus an upstairs function room. Beers on the bar were Oakham JHB, Holdens Golden Glow and Marstons 61 Deep which we chose and it was fine. Attractive garden at the rear.

An attractive pub with a striking mural on the end wall beyond which is situated the entrance just a few steps from the station platform. This was the obvious choice for our last couple of pints before the train home however it was seriously busy on Saturday evening, we were lucky to grab a solitary high table. I imagine many of the punters were loading up here before heading into Birmingham for the night. Two rooms which link together to the rear, both served by a central bar. Lots of railway memorabilia including some nice old regional maps pre Beeching. One wall has some butterfly patterned wallpaper.
Stairs lead up to a signed function room and there is a garden somewhere but I didn't investigate either.
Four beers on handpump, Oakham Citra, Marston's 61 Deep, Shipyard Island IPA and Holden's Golden Glow which unfortunately went. The beers were all very tightly sparklered making them difficult to pour and causing quite a lot of wastage. There really is no need and the couple of pints of Citra I had tasted totally different to normal as a result. Not a bad pub nevertheless.

Excellent rambling pub next to the station (surprise surprise), opened up a little but still with great character and furnished well with worn sanded tables, waiting room soft benches and more traditional pub seating and plenty of space (unless it gets really busy).

3 extremely well kept ales, though no longer quite as original as they have been - includes Black Sheep and Landlord, which was excellent especially as this beer seems hard to keep properly in other places.

This is a Victorian pub next to the railway station, presumably hence the name.

It is quite large inside and is split into two rooms which form a square around a central bar area which serves both rooms.

The Station serves pretty decent food which I have eaten on a number of occasions in the past.

In addition to the usual stuff, there were four handpulls. Two of which had Timothy Taylor's Landlord, one had Purity UBU and one had Black Sheep Bitter. I had the Black Sheep and it was pretty good.

The back room has a toy train track running around it high up on the wall and there is a large and unusual patio area.

I had not been to the Station for a while, and I had forgotten that it is pretty good.

A detached range of predominantly undressed brick buildings. The pub elemet has a white string course with a green half facade. There is a superb beer garden area at the back on several levels, with, as reviewd below, a station canopy being used as a cover.

The interior had two L-shaped rooms that encompass the central serving bar. The first room, accessed through the side door is in red and cream and a wall 1940s looking patterned paper! by the bar itself and then turns into cream and black as you pass the bar. There is a strange red wall with strange faces on leading up the stairs to the music venue and there is a central tiled hearth feature here too. A couple of imps look down at you from the walls, along with some arty photos, mirrors and Spiderman cartoons in the bar bit. The other room is in cream and purple. Here there are a couple of sofas a few old photos of the area, some pictures of the locals on one wall and a train track suspended above your head - the train ran the last time i was here a few months back, on an evening. There was no TV or background music. The service was fine and there was a large mixed clientele. When i visited on a Thursday evening, it was so packed i headed to the garden area, being a miserable person. They do a small menu, but i didn't eat, so can't comment on that.

Beer; tap stuff with Peroni. On handpull there was Timothy Taylor Landlord and a decent enough Black Sheep.

A nice place, but it gets crowded - so i will aim to visit in the day rather than evenings, as i am miserable. Worth doing along with the Gate, but don't miss it if in Sutton.

Clive Thompson left this review about The Station

It was difficult to find much fault with this pub. It's not exceptional but everything they do they do well. There are comfortable seating areas and a fair bit of standing room. Friendly and efficient service. Good homemade food, if a little pricey. Nice décor and what may or may not be a working model railway around the ceiling of the back bar. Outside is what looks like an old station platform passenger shelter, now serving as a gazebo. Three real ale pumps and the beer was in good condition. It was lively and buzzing on the Friday night we visited. A good pub, located right by the train station, as the name suggests, and I suspect it's considered one of the best in Sutton Coldfield.
