Quite an elongated, low, two-storey building of some age (as indicated by the ceiling height within). Refurbished in a semi-traditional style with just the perspex Covid-19 screens protecting the counters in the bar and separate dining area really h... [more>]

Upmarket hotel, restaurant and bar in a three-storey building set back and above from the road. All smartly furnished and decorated, but the split-level, part-patio / part-grassed beer garden at the back is very well done. No real ale unfortunately... [more>]

A slightly weird place to find in the middle of a town, looking as if it would be more at home in some rustic garden centre. However, the older eponymous building, more modern single storey extension and compact courtyard seating area are well done... [more>]

Very traditional backstreet pub with a heritage interior featuring two separate bars: the rectangular front one being slightly larger and the square one off to the side being plainer but almost timeless apart from the post-coronavirus notices. Six r... [more>]

This 18th-century building, which has always been a pub, stands out in Newmarket's High Street due to its distinctive brickwork. Sadly, one finds little of note within the extended interior apart from a wood-panelled side lounge area about halfway b... [more>]

Fine looking pub, and one of many interesting buildings set around this small town's very attractive Market Place. The square bar at the front seems quite plain, although I guess they may have temporarily taken out most of the tables for social dist... [more>]

Mikaku, which is termed as a modern izakayu restaurant, is only temporarily closed and not a pub. There was another one further down on Queen Street. So it should still be shown as Strata(closed).
