A real classic street corner boozer ,a Partick institution well used and well loved by the locals. The interior is good too, with a stone fireplace, stained glass and a very authentic feel.Furniture was traditional, and the interior leads to a raised rear section with it's own attractive small bar with a high back and some fishing vessel ephemera dotted about. It was lively on a Friday night with a good mix of age groups and several all female crews.
At the Bar there was Caledonian Deuchers and Inveralmond Ossian,a limited ale selection besides standard kegs and a decent whisky collection.
It's worth a visit for the authentic atmosphere alone, try and pop in if passing. If you want to learn about the Highland Clearances a visit to the gents is mandatory !

The Lismore is a very good looking traditional dark wood Glasgow pub with some excellent stained glass windows that makes it look good from the outside and an even better place from the inside. Although it’s only been around since 1996 it gives the impression of a much greater age than that.
A long internal space with a two bar set up as described below and the main front bar with all the surrounding stained glass is definitely the best section to try and get a seat in.
The pub takes its name from one of the last areas to be affected by the Highland Clearances and the stained glass windows depict scenes from that event and there is indeed the opportunity for punters to pay their respects to the infamous three individuals who were mainly responsible for the travesties of that time.
The bar back supports a very impressive range of Whiskeys and I believe it has won the accolade of Glasgow Whisky bar of the year in recent years. Unfortunately an incorrect point in Pauls review below is that there are only two real ales available amongst the usual keg offerings and these were Deuchars IPA and a guest from one of the highland regional breweries.
There was a very lively mixed crowd in for our Friday night visit and the pub appears to attract a varied cross section of the local communities.
As mentioned not the greatest place for the real ale drinker , but a very solid traditional decor pub and worth a visit for the stained glass windows alone.

The Lismore (or "Lios More" from the side entrance) is one of the best bars in Glasgow and if you haven't visited it yet I recommend that you should make plans to pop in asap. a really impressive looking bar from the outside (stained glassed windows, wood panels etc) and on the inside , traditional clean , classy and very Scottish but not like a "Scottish shortbread tin". The Lismore has 2 separate bar areas inside, the main bar as you enter from Dumbarton road is nicely laid out with an astonishing amount of whiskeys (over 125) it also has a bewildering array of standard beers and ciders (Smiths, Tennents, Guinness, 1666, Heineken.... actually so many I have forgotten) they also had around 7 real ale taps on the go (maybe more it was busy when I visited and I couldn't see the whole bar) = the second Bar at the top of the bar (can be accessed from the side road) is a lot smaller but itself seems as well stocked as most bars are. Clientèle are really mixed and friendly and will chat to you , bar staff know their stuff and are helpful and friendly (had a great pint of IPA ) Seating is ample with a few tables (mostly up at the top bar area) The toilets are very clean and even there very Scottish, with a bit of a wry dig and the highland clearances and those responsible (you'll know what I mean when you visit). My review doesn't really do this place justice, If you like a traditional pub (done right) great beer /ales/ whiskey etc and cool punters and staff you need to visit the Lismore (If I lived in Glasgow this would be my local)
