Still as described by Komakino below, although the background music was at a decent volume. Apparently there's a small function room upstairs, but I didn't visit it. There's definitely a small beer garden to the rear, but I didn't vist that either as it was raining. Friendly welcome from the staff and my pint of Neptune was in good nick. I'd definitely call in again if in the area.

A newish venture on Westhoughton's Market Street, a shop conversion with shop front facade (large glass windows). An L-shape space has high seating upon entry with bookcase wallpaper, racking to the left offers bottled and canned local beers to purchase with chilled versions in a double door fridge to the right of these. The bar itself is small, occupying a nook to the top left of the room with beers on stillage behind and four cask pumps and three beers on keg. A pint of Blackedge Detention was spot-on and offered in either a straight or handled vessel. Propietor Rachel was extremely friendly and gave me a decent Camra discount which reduced my pint price from £3.10 to £2.79. It doesn't tick all the micropub boxes (background music was too loud), but ventures such as this run by enthusiastic young people are to be applauded, and if you're in the area, this should be on your radar.
