Visited on Saturday afternoon, when it was pretty busy. Two banks of five hand pulls at the bar, two of which were off, amongst the remaining was Moorhouse's Pride of Pendle, Moorhouse's Blonde Witch, Bank Top Flat Cap, Brightside Manchester Skyline and Ruddles. Guest ales priced at £1.99 with Ruddles cheaper at £1.69. A shame there wasn't a bit more variety in the beer styles available, with bitters and golden ales dominating, but my Flat Cap was perfectly fine.

The pub has an outdoor seating area to the rear, a few booths inside with the rest of the seating consisting of standard tables and chairs. Toilets are upstairs in what is basically a mezzanine level with four further tables in this space.

There was a fire going downstairs, which had a helpful sign next to it warning that it may be hot.

Not too bad a Wethers though it is a fairly standard one. Its on two levels within a large box, though the upper level is basically where the toilets are to be honest. The ground floor is standard issue Wethers and I didn't see too much bumpf that had anything to do with shark fodder Mafia bosses displayed around the place. The long bar is to your left on entering. To the rear is a very small beer yard extending into a car park. No deadly sharks, hijacked trains or mob bosses in on my visit.

This was originally a Co-Op until they moved diagonally right across the road to larger premises. It's also named after the actor who most people may remember from Jaws but really old people will remember from a black and white TV series called Buccaneers.
It's a fairly typical shop conversion with the bar on the left and a raised area to the right. It was doing a good trade on my Thursday morning visit.
The ten hand pumps on the bar had the JDW Trio Of Doom, two ciders, Marstons Old Empire, GK Old Speckled Hen, Naylors Citradelic & Dark Side and Phoenix Monkeytown Mild. I went for the Old Empire to wash down my breakfast and the beer was in good nick.
For a small town Spoons I thought this one was reasonable enough.
