Millers is a small functional bar that had the atmosphere of a wedding reception in a village hall during a recent late midweek afternoon visit. The short bar counter on the rear wall supports six standard keg products alongside San Miguel and Birra Moretti. A pool table takes centre stage and on the right-hand wall is a dartboard next to a jukebox that was off whilst the television supplied some background music, and adverts, via Heart 80s Drivetime. Burgers and hot dogs are available and during the week the doors are open 14:00 to 22:00. I found the service to be polite and the ten or so young customers all seemed harmless enough, but this is very much a locals bar so I think I’ll leave them to it when next in the area.

Millars is a single room bar in what may once have been a shop. It is trying to be a wine bar but missing the mark by some considerable distance. Modern furniture, tv and gaming machines and cheap oak flooring all make it look terribly contrived, while there was no proper wine list to speak of. There was only one ale on, Spitfire, which was undrinkable. CHeap meals were on offer - chilli and spag bol, which looked ok if you didn't want a decent drink with them. Staff were uninterested and the locals were just unpleasant. Generally, it was pretty awful all round and I doubt I'll ever return.
