The Kings Head is an L-shaped pub with an L-shaped bar counter that faces the entrance from the right and towards the front where there is seating and a dartboard that was hosting a league match, as were many pubs during my recent crawl of the area. Wandering around I spotted a pool table and a second dartboard. There was some background music coming from the jukebox and on the back bar is a large fish tank, with a few skulls in for decoration which was apt with my visit being just before Halloween. Standard keg was available alongside Cruzcampo and the hand pump was drawing Tonbridge Brewery’s Countryman. This is a decent boozer for the locals.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kings Head
Corner pub on the edge of town, with the L-shaped layout you would expect. Simply furnished and plainly decorated, but it certainly benefits from some large windows on two sides. Also has a basic patio beer garden. Much to my surprise, not only was one of the two handpumps in use, but the Tonbridge Coppernob (£3.50) was in fine condition.

Dating back to around 1800, The King's Head has previously been a Style and Winch pub and a nightclub - now a local again despite being on the busy A2. It's a very good local pub just outside the town centre. It's homely and unpretentious and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The current landlord has been here for about 5 years and has made a point of keeping a pleasant place for families, throwing out drunks and yobs which were once a problem here. There is a pool table and a fairly unobtrusive jukebox. Only one ale on - Wychwood Dog's Bollocks, which sadly was on the turn but still just about drinkable. The landlord was quite happy to accept my telling him this as the constructive criticism it was intended to be. I'd be happy to come back anytime and would recommend inclusion on a town crawl.
