This bar was converted from the former waiting room for the Leith to Aberdeen ferry. There are destination names high on the wall all around the bar. The wood panelling ceiling is designed to look like an upturned boat. There's a restaurant in a conservatory to the rear called "A Room In Leith" and a floating pontoon, closed when we visited, for outside drinking. There are 5 handpumps on the bar serving Deuchars IPA plus guests. I got lucky as Fyne Jarl was on the bar and I had several pints of this over our two visits, which was in excellent condition. They're rightly listed in the GBG2012. There's a stunning array of malt whisky's listed next to the bar as well. This is your best option for a post 11 p.m. drink in Leith as they're open until 1 a.m. every night except Sunday and it's 12:30 a.m. then. Friendly, attentive staff and a very good ambience, made this our late night local before wandering back to our nearby hotel.

This is an interesting bar/bistro on the waterfront in the ’new money’ part of Leith. They serve real ales and a have a good whisky selection. At the back is a conservatory area used for eating and there's also a floating pontoon which, I imagine, is used mainly during the Summer months. I believe that the building is a converted harbourmaster's office and that the word 'teuchter' was often used by urban Scots to refer to their rural/Highland countrymen. Worth a visit if you are in the area, it makes a nice difference to the identikit places along The Shore.
