Another Marstons pub, a little further out of the town centre than the Nags Head and quite a bit smaller. Again, it seems to be popular with locals, who seem to be a friendly bunch. The bar is central, with three hand pumps facing each of the two rooms. I saw three beers on (Pedigree, Courage Directors and Wainwright) plus a Hobgoblin Gold pump clip turned around. I had the Directors, which was spot on. I wouldn't mind coming here again on my next trip to Belper.

When we lived in Belper, (until 1996), this traditional pub was a favourite with us and our visiting familly. The Pedigree bitter was excellent as was the traditional pub environment.
