Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Lion

Substantial brick pub and Indian restaurant. Retains two separate bars, a now smaller one at the front since a glazed partition was put in to create a side room, and a larger one further back in what is now the main dining area. Also has a separate Party Room, and all parts refurbished and well maintained. Wye Valley HPA (£3.70) and Holden's Golden Glow available from the three handpumps on each counter.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion

This is a 1950s-ish rebuild of an earlier Red Lion pub (now under the front car-park and dual-carriageway). The place has a rear patio area. It is in undressed brick, with a slight mock-Tudor look, with its tall stacks and decorative brickwork. Has two front gable-ends, with a steep pitched roof and dormers. The interior has several rooms; the lounge being used for dining. There is a small snug room, a pool room and a main bar, which is where i went. The room is in brown, coffee and cream, with a blue floor and has a plain fireplace. There are a few TVs, with the footy on and a dart board in the corner. There are no real pictures in this room. The service was OK and a few people wandered in as i supped my pint. Beer; no real ale. Usual keg taps with Banks's MILD and Ansell's MILD (which was OK). While i did not try the food, this place seemed to have the pub games and entertainments and a couple of MILDs is always a bonus. Just misses a real ale, and the smell of the food was strong at one point.
