Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Queens Head
This basic-looking local in a rather unpromising, semi-industrial area turns out to be a slight surprise. For once, most of the exterior signage in such places still turns out to be true, with regular karaoke events, a Sunday carvery, weekday cobs, etc. The interior features several different seating areas (one with a dartboard) are all plainly furnished, but tidy enough. I found one of the three handpumps in use, offering Wye Valley's rarer Bitter (oddly priced at £3.96), with reversed HPA and Rosie's Pig clips on the adjacent handle.

This is a detached corner pub. It looks 1950s to me. The area was heavily industrialised until the 1930s, when the houses started to appear. The pub is quite square at the front, but extends someway back. It is in plain brick and cream render. The interior has had all of its old rooms ripped out - as shown by the ghosts of the old fireplaces. The main room is L-shaped and in white and brick, with a wood floor. There are darts and pool, as well as a big pull down screen (not on). A few old photos are on the walls and a few TVs were tuned to music channels. The service was ok and the clientele mainly younger. They do Indian food - and i tried a quick starter, which was fine. Beer; no real ale, usual tap stuff with a decent enough M&B MILD. Nothing for the real ale fan - happy i stopped-off, more for the food than the beer.
