A traditional, basic high street pub which has avoided being ruined by Glastonbury’s tourist hoards. There is a beer garden hidden behind, and a skittle alley which doubles as a function room and hall for regular live music acts. There is a single L-shaped bar, the short end of which has a lower floor and hosts a pool table. There are two dartboards, a gaming machine and a woodburner. The décor is plain, there is a warm welcome from the staff and the beer is good. There is a large TV for screening live sports. There was an influx of young children and toddlers at one point, but they settled down for a meal and didn’t really cause an issue. The other customers were young locals, a decent bunch. Ales on were Butcombe Original and Hobgoblin Gold, both in good condition. I’d be very happy to pop back in for a beer or a snack.

Our choice of venue for lunch - mainly cause they had the football on.
A couple of real ales on and the Butcombe was superb. Best tasted.
Lunch wasnt bad.
Eclectic mix of regulars and tourists.
Decent pub - recommended
