A Georgian town inn currently owned by Palmers, with plenty of character. There is an attractive paved garden at the side, with plenty of wooden benches and tables interspersed with planters. Inside, there are tiled floors, exposed timbers and a couple of open fireplaces, plus all sorts of bric-a-brac including a telephone box, racks of fishing rods and other clutter. Food is their primary business, though they do have some B&B rooms. There are 4 handpumps on the bar – First Press cider, Gold, Copper and 200. The Copper was well and truly off, but the Gold was in good condition. The staff were very pleasant, especially one of the barmaids who had a lovely smile. Worth dropping in for food and drink, and I’d be tempted to B&B here.

if you are after a gastro pub, this is the place to go.
Top Quality food - steaks especially recommended. Service excellent as well.
Beer was none too shabby. Not seen Palmers before and the 200 was superb. Not really a drinkers pub though.
