Alan Winfield left this review about Crown & Volunteer

The Crown and Volunteer was a 30s built pub that was situated on the busy church street.
Once inside the pub had two rooms with smart lounge and a very basic bar,we had a drink in the bar this had a tiled floor and pretty basic seating.
The pub was a Joseph Holt tied house and there were two real ales on the bar,we had a drink of Holts bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Holts mild.
This was a proper drinkers pub and it is a shame that it has now closed down.
