The Wheatsheaf is a traditional high street pub which dates from 1840 set on a corner at the end of the shopping area. It has a lively local clientele and a welcoming staff. The interior is decorated in a slightly tacky mock-Tudor style, and there is a pool table, jukebox and large tv to entertain those who are so inclined. Furniture was well-worn and gave the place a slightly shabby feel. There was only one ale on, Doombar, which was well kept and served at the right temperature. Overall a decent town pub well worth dropping in to for a quick pint when passing.
