A stand alone Victorian looking pub, as usual for the type on a corner. You enter to an L-shaped room without too much of interest beyond framed scenes of European cities and collections of local scenes, postcard size. The side conservatory type space was fairly basic to say the least with a polycarbonate roof which had a ladder suspended from the centre from which dangled pots, pans etc; novel. There was however a flagged floor but clearly of recent age.
Beers as listed by Rex below, one gripe, there is a 10% CAMRA discount.....is this advertised at the bar or offered there? Nope, there is a sign in the gents, now how does that work my cynical mind wonders?

This was the last of our Bromley backstreet pubs before heading back to the bright lights of Bromley High Street. The main bar area is opened up, brightly decorated, and quite minimalist in decoration. But we sat in a conservatory area at the back, where in November it wasn't opened up to the elements in the way it just might be in the summer.

The ale selection looked quite good, with Rooster's Tru Grit, Purple Moose Snowdonia, and Skinner's Splendid Tackle all on. Unfortunately the True Grit turned out to be undrinkable, but was readily change for the Snowdonia. I didn't see any sign of food late afternoon on a Wednesday.

For me this didn't have the homely feel that the Red Lion and Anglesey Arms up the road had, but it was better than the White Horse - so definitely in the OK category. A decent pint of real ale helped of course.

The Crown and Anchor is a decent sized pub that is just off Bromley's town centre.
Once inside there is a single L shaped room with the bar facing, there are tall tables and chairs to the front left, the rear right area has a chesterfield settee and tables with daft looking leather stools which were pretty uncomfortable to sit on,the room is carpeted.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Doom Bar which tasted slightly off,the other beer was London Pride.
There was a TV on showing the WBA V West Ham game and loud background music was mixing in with the commentry.
The pub was fairly busy with drinkers.
Only worth a quick visit.
