The four handpumps here were all clipped for Greene King IPA, so therefore no choice. It's obviously a Greene King pub but another choice would have been welcome.

This is still a homely backstreet locals' pub. It's carpetted, with mainly normal tables and chairs, but with some tall tables/tall stools and a sofa or two at the back on the right. The bar back and peninsular bar counter look original, and the door marked to the saloon bar on the left still has it's etched glass panel. There also some delightful stained glass panels above the main windows as well.

It was doing a good trade when I was in early evening on a Wednesday. This is the sort of traditional locals' pub that I like; a better ale selction would be a definite plus though.

The Freelands Tavern is a decent looking back street pub that is one of five in this area.
Once inside there is a single U shaped room with the bar facing, the right side has a darts board, there are normal tables and chairs to the front, the left side is down a step, this area is bare boarded and has normal tables and chairs.
The pub is a Greene King tied house, there were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Morland Original which was a decent enough drink, the other beers were GK London Glory and IPA.
I was quite happy having a drink in this pub.

Situated in the back streets near Bromley North station, this traditional style Greene King corner pub is one of 5 pubs within a short distance which makes for a half decent crawl.

There are some remnants of its original glazing with the Saloon Bar signage still evident in the side door whilst internally it has been knocked through into a single U-shape room with a small corridor behind the bar that effectively turns it into an island. The carpeted front section has typically pubby feel whilst to the right hand side is a Public Bar area containing a dart board and a few trophies. To the rear down the left hand side is a slightly sunken lounge area with open fire and black sofas. And there is a decent beer garden at the rear

On the beer front there were 4 hand pumps with 3 Greene King based ales; IPA, Speckled Hen and Morland Original of which I had the last, decent enough quality albeit not one my favourite pints to start with. At £3.10 the prices seemed reasonable enough for the area. Food looked reasonable enough and good value with main courses around £6-7.

It is a pub that seems to meet the needs of a cross section of locals and feels comfortable enough although some of the customer base I can imagine being a bit on the coarse side. It is worth popping in as part of the aforementioned crawl in the area but I’m not sure it has enough appeal for me to spend any great length of time.
