Roger Button left this review about Hard Rock Cafe

This is the only Hard Rock Café in Scotland (and 1 of only 4 in Britain). The chain is a bit of a tourist institution and is obviously more restaurant than bar.

The front area contains the souvenir shop to the right and bar area to the left although this is primarily a holding area for people awaiting tables and it is hard to see that anyone would want to drink there for any other reason. There are no ales, 4 draught beers Tennants, Boddingtons (both £3.40 a pint), Stella (£3.50) and Guinness (£3.80), a few selected bottled beers and cocktails. Drink prices did seem pretty reasonable for such an establishment.
The restaurant at the rear has the usual rock memorabilia, signed guitars, gold discs etc and whilst it is very expensive for what it is, I have to admit I do like the HRC burgers food and always come out stuffed.

I have chalked up a fair number of HRC’s from my wordly travels and whilst the Edinburgh outlet satisfies the basic expectancies, it is certainly not one of the more interesting ones.but I suppose you have to go just to get the t-shirt. My rating is for the overall bar/meal experience. As a bar it really isn’t worth the bother.
