Old Boots left this review about Teuchters

Corner pub, off the main road and in a posher street than the main drag, there’s three gentrified places in this well to do street. Single long room with an undulating shape, the counter is to the left on entering through an arched affair. Seating at tables and chairs, the tables are powered by large church type candles, and there’s a few screens hanging about. A bit of pump clip decor but not extreme, otherwise rough cast plaster and stone walls with company posters (Teuchters Landing in Leith et al), supplemented by whisky maps, sports shirts and such like. Five pulls with interesting and standard kegs plus a wide whisky range. GBG listed but too middle class, and pricey, for my tastes, the mode of pulling convinced me it was a return tray system but WhatPub doesn’t flag it as such.

A street corner pub in a residential area ,this is a popular rugby pub with lots of ephemera of the oval shaped ball. The interior has different sections and a low ceiling ,while downstairs in the Bunker ,a wait to be seated small dining room hewn out of rock ,partly brick lined.A former cellar ?
Seating was at a premium and was generally small tables while the customer base rotated rapidly.Good value and substantial food was proving popular.Real ale options on my trip were Fyne Jarl (NBSS 3.5),TT Landlord,Belhaven 80/-,Stewart Pentland IPA and Top Out Staple. There were a lot of craft keg taps dedicated to Stewart output.
This was a brief crawl visit but a decent enough stop in the West End.Deserved it's 2023 GBG entry.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Teuchters

Side street 'bar + bunker' that turns out to be a Good Beer Guide listed alehouse with a convivial atmosphere. Several seating / dining areas in a semi-open layout around the bar, all having festive decoration when I visited. There was a decent choice of real ales from the five handpumps: Stewart's Pentland IPA (£4.85), Fyne Ales Jarl, a pair from Orkney - Island Life and the seasonal Clootie Dumpling - and Landlord.

Comic Sans typeface exterior sign made me wonder. Multi-area interior with arches and dividing pillars. An overall attempt at country-pub-in-the-city ambience; whitewashed stone walls with some varnished tongue and groove wood panelling at the rear, wood beams etc. Dimly lit, candles on all tables. Five pumps; Fyne Jarl, TT Landlord, Deuchars IPA, Knops East Coast Pale and Swannay Dark Munro. Both halves I got were far too warm, with the Swannay tasting like it was on the turn. At £4.05 I expected much better from a supposed freehouse. Beer and whiskey flights offered but the only flight I was making was out the door and off down the road. Even more surprising is that this place is in the Good Beer Guide for 2016.

I was quite disappointed with this after enjoying my visit to Bert's across the road. The interior has been stripped back to bare stone and then made to look like a country pub, possibly in Glen Coe, and this fundamental dishonesty must have nagged at me so that I never quite felt comfortable here. Or perhaps it was being charged £4.50 for two halves that did it - and it wasn't even my round! The beer was fine, once I'd managed to persuade them to pour 10 rather than eight fluid ounces of Highland Munro Mild into my glass. There were four other beers available, but I was too grumpy by this time to make a note of them. The best thing about my visit was seeing the Williams Brothers delivery van outside when I was taking my photo - but none of their beers were on the bar, only bottles in the cooler. Wish I'd stayed in Bert's.

Quite a dark interior with 5 real ales served. Double it up with Bert's bar across the road.

When I used to live in Edinburgh in the mid/late 90s this was Spanish tapas bar with an excellent Spanish restaurant underneath. It's been opened out on the ground floor from a couple of small rooms although you can still see where one of them was. It's been nicely decorated and feels like an old bar, contrary to the outside appearance. There are 4 handpumps serving Deuchars and what I assume are 3 changing guests. I had a pint of Dark Munro which was in good nick. I quite liked this place although I used to love the old Spanish place. We'll no doubt call in again next time.
