Old Boots left this review about The Scotsmans Lounge

Single room bar just off the High St, a U shaped counter rests against the back wall. Surprisingly it had live music on a Friday afternoon and was very busy although more than a few had suitcases and were on their way to or from Waverley. Just the one pull, a fairly dreary Deuchars IPA. A couple of horseshoes carry the normal stuff for hereabouts. The otherwise plain walls have a nice collection of old drawings and photos of Edinburgh and some military pipe band photos. There’s a couple of screens and the ceiling beams are covered with foreign banknotes, some signed by the donors in memory of no doubt enjoyable drunken visits.

Located just off the royal mile. Old barrels used as tables and pipe band/military memorabilia on the walls. Live music advertised. 1 real ale on during my visit which was just after 9:00am so early opening was a bonus.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Scotsmans Lounge

Given its location just a few yards off the Royal Mile, this is a surprisingly basic and non-touristy pub. Sparsely furnished and simply decorated, with the few tables mostly comprising former wooden barrels. Known as a live music venue, and there was an excellent singer/guitarist playing during my visit. Just two handpumps, offering Deuchars IPA and Caledonian 80/- (£3.30).
