Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about No 1 High Street

Located towards the lower end of the Royal Mile, this pub benefits from being slightly calmer than those further up. However, apart from that, it is a similarly tourist-friendly establishment with a semi-traditional, slightly split-level layout. In these troubled times, only three of the seven handpumps were in use, dispensing Greene King IPA, Black Sheep and (thankfully) the Blonde from Eyemouth's Aye Been Brewing (£4.60).

Apparently one for the locals deep in the most touristy part of Edinburgh. Large pub with a handful of regulars. Good whisky choice and a handful of real ales. Deuchars in good form.

6 real ale taps 5 on during my visit plus Old Rosie cider. Food served and live music advertised. One of the better pubs on the royal mile.

Modern pub on Royal Mile, its Edinburgh like with its high ceilings and seating.

Friendly place but feels slightly lost and cavonous on my visit, despite it not being too large. Comfortable though, and a nice enough stop off for a beer or food. Lightly piped music is neither one thing or another.

Great choice and description of whiskies on their menu.

Beer was ok, with a choice of some rarer Scottish brews.

decent enough pub with good selection of drinks(although an additional charge if you want to pay by card,50p,is poor for slightly above average price of drinks).didnt try it but food looked great
