A large central island bar basically splits the pub in two. 4 real ales and food served. Live music advertised.

Nicely appointed pub in the Lairiston area of the city, just off the main road. Some banquette seating and booths in the main room, with another room to the side which was closed during our lunchtime visit. 4 handpumps on the bar and sadly both our beers were totally underwhelming. Served too warm and in very average condition, mine was verging on being sent back. Not impressed at all I'm afraid.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Southsider

The wide frontage of this place was covered by large banners advertising sports TV events which didn't make it look too enticing. However, once inside, it proved to be rather more interesting than anticipated. The large interior, with dark furniture and decor, is divided into two bars (the main one of which has a row of booths along one side). This also has another (dining?) room beyond, and there is a comfortable lounge area behind the other bar. Live music advertised in addition to TV sport events. Four real ales on handpump - Deuchars IPA, Caledonian 80/-, TT Landlord and the seasonal 6.2% Chilli Reekie from Stewart Brewing (£1.85 for a half, which was quite enough of this flavoursome chilli pepper stout with a bite...). Friendly landlady, with an obvious interest in the beers sold.
