Steve C left this review about The Waiting Room
The Edinburgh Suburban Line that passes through Morningside is no longer used to transport passengers, but pre 1962 Morningside Railway Station was located on the bridge where the Waiting Room now resides. Inside the central front entrance there’s a strip of L-shaped seating that runs across the front of the pub and up the right wall. Three steps from the front and the right lead up to a central bar area that faces high tables around the edge of the raised bar area. Three handpumps are on the bar, but two were unused leaving Spey Valley Any Time Sunshine as the lone cask option. A standard and premium keg range was also available from the polite woman on duty. Televisions are located throughout, muted Sky Sports news was on whilst some background music played. It felt more like a café in here to me so I’d walk past if in the area again.
