The Gamekeeper's, Nottingham

This is another micropub in Eastwood that prefers to describe itself as a Freehouse (sic). Despite that it's a proper micropub with no TVs or other annoying distractions. It's a fairly typical shop conversion with a wooden floor and the bar counter at the rear right. There is a small patio at the rear and there are much more adequate toilets than some micropubs. This was the third Eastwood pub I visited with a DH Lawrence themed name. It was very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit with some of those present dressed up as gamekeepers. I was going to ask one of them if they had been out recreating scenes from Lawrence's most famous book but didn't get round to it. The bar has five hand pumps which had Oakham Blue Skies IPA, Dancing Duck Sapphire, Aurora Big Dark & Constellation and Black Iris Bajan Breakfast. I went for the Oakham beer (£3.40) which was excellent. I thought this was another good micropub.
