Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Gamekeeper's

One of the many Nottingham Road micro-pubs, this one is slightly larger and more comfortable than some of the others. Not a lot of furniture, but the small tables around the bar are supplemented by a couple of booths with pew seating in a side alcove. With four of the five handpumps in operation, offering real ales in a range of styles, my attention was immediately drawn to the Coal Face Stout from Industrial Ales (excellent, and just £2.50).

It was busy here towards the end of our Saturday afternoon crawl of some of the many micropubs in this area. I found it a little more awkward than at the time of my first visit, when I was the only customer. For example, I didn't see some of the hand pumps until I'd already ordered a beer from what I took to be a pretty limited offering, because some people were sitting at the bar in a very crowded space with no room to manoeuvre. My note made at the time, that all the beers were pale with new world hops may or may not be accurate, consequently. Seating was limited to low stools and small seats crammed into corners - I know some people complain about high chairs in bars, but low stools are a pain for me.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Gamekeeper's

A well planned and thought out micro pub consisting of a one good sized rectangle shaped room with a small side area which acted as a small snug, on the left of entrance. The bar was situated in the back right hand corner, which had an oak counter top and a sage green panelled bar front. The walls were painted in a pale green colour and all of the walls had sage green painted panelling up to dado height. Another feature was the ceiling lamps and two lamps over the bar which were made up from imitation deer antlers. The flooring was herringbone patterned lino throughout, except for the snug area, which had a tartan patterned carpet. A log burning stove was positioned in the front seating area along the right hand wall.
Five ales on handpump, two from Black Iris, Snake Eyes and Endless Summer, Grasshopper Brewery Irish Stout, Magpie Best and Lenton Lane Citra Smash. The prices in here were also good all beers at £3 a pint.

One room with the bar to the right. Three hand pumps with cider in a rear room. Strange light fittings at the front. Would revisit.

A shop conversion where the owner has clearly given a lot of thought as to how to make the best use of the available space. There are five hand pumps, with beers all from local breweries: Blue Monkey, Black Iris, Leatherbritches and Aurora. It was very quiet at the time of my visit, but on a midweek afternoon in November this was not entirely unexpected. There is a lot of competition in Eastwood, with several new or re-established bars and micropubs - I hope this one continues to be a success.

Aqualung . left this review about The Gamekeeper's Freehouse

This is another micropub in Eastwood that prefers to describe itself as a Freehouse (sic). Despite that it's a proper micropub with no TVs or other annoying distractions. It's a fairly typical shop conversion with a wooden floor and the bar counter at the rear right. There is a small patio at the rear and there are much more adequate toilets than some micropubs.
This was the third Eastwood pub I visited with a DH Lawrence themed name. It was very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit with some of those present dressed up as gamekeepers. I was going to ask one of them if they had been out recreating scenes from Lawrence's most famous book but didn't get round to it. The bar has five hand pumps which had Oakham Blue Skies IPA, Dancing Duck Sapphire, Aurora Big Dark & Constellation and Black Iris Bajan Breakfast.
I went for the Oakham beer (£3.40) which was excellent.
I thought this was another good micropub.
