A recent opening on the up and coming Wells Road, this is a brewpub that was formerly operating as some sort of pop-up at Windmill Hill city farm, but has now moved in to it’s own bricks and mortar premises. It looks to have been two shop units previously, and there were a number of picnic benches on the wide pavement outside to make the most of the traffic views.

Internally it is perhaps something of a mix between contemporary and industrial, although there was no sign of any brewery equipment as is often the case in such establishments. The flooring is all dark wood strip, with mostly plain whitewashed walls and ceilings. The two rooms were separated by a doorway and some basic wooden planks forming a small partition, with the left hand room being long and fairly narrow, and housing the bar counter, so seating options were limited. The wall behind the bar had been painted a dark shade of battleship grey, with the counter itself being clad with more wooden boards. A small shelf near the window had a couple of bar stools adjacent, and housed a few pot plants, colourful beer cans, menus and dog biscuits, as well as some contemporary artwork above. The larger room to the right was broadly similar in terms of décor, although with very dark grey wood panelling around the lower part of the walls, and plenty of seating options.

Oddly the only two real ales on tap were not their own, but from the New Bristol Brewery with their Don’t Forget the Jester and My Citra Romance. Keg options were also predominantly from NBB with their Blood Orange, Spindrift, Expresso Martini and Duvet Vous along with Wiper & True’s Kaleidoscope. The solitary cider meanwhile was Branch’s Redstreak.
