The layout is well described below, though sadly it seems to have changed somewhat since the last review. It is feeling decidedly battered and shabby, and the outside is littered with pile of sodden fag-ends, all of which makes it feel a bit depressing. On the plus side, though there is now a pool table in the area with the dartboard. The landlady was welcoming and friendly, and it feels like the sort of place that would make a good local in better times. The only food available was hot sausage rolls or filled rolls made to order, but there was no real ale on draft. The best they had was a choice of bottled beers – Directors, Doombar and Old Speckled Hen were the choices. It’s a convenient place to stop if heading South out of Bristol, although parking might be an issue

The George Inn is a large looking pub that is on a busy road.
Once inside there is a large L shaped room with the bar on the mid left side, there is bench seating and chairs and normal tables and chairs to the front and bench seating and chairs opposite the bar.
The rear right area is down one step, there is a darts board here.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Butcombe Bitter, which was a decent drink, the other real ale was Courage Best.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a drink in.
A shame i forgot to take a photo of it.

A traditional and long established pub on the main A37, this has somehow managed to survive pretty much unchanged when most of the other pubs in the area seem to have closed or morphed in to a cafe/bar or such like.

The main bar area is a good sized, L-shape room with carpet on the floor and salmon paintwork on the walls. Vinyl bench seating was all along one side, and there were several old boys sat along here who seemed to be doing nothing other than just sitting. At the front of the pub some gaming tables had been laid out and a number of punters were playing. At one end was a snug area with exposed stone walling, a couple of old leather sofas, a wood burning stove and a plasma perched somewhat incongruously in the corner showing a sports channel, although the volume was off so this was not too intrusive. Another room was down a few steps at the back but this was in darkness and we did not investigate. There is also some decking at the front, which although attractive enough is not the ideal spot for sitting outside since you’re very close to a busy main road.

Beers on tap were Flying Scotsman and Courage Best, whilst a third pump appeared to have run out. Ciders were Symonds Founder’s Reserve and Blackthorn.
