A traditional if slightly run down looking pub alongside the railway cutting, it has a somewhat bohemian feel to it and consists of a single L-shaped room internally along with a popular beer garden which from the sound of it was full to capacity, although we did not investigate this.

Inside it’s very pleasant and décor wise is quite traditional with all manner of bits and pieces dotted around. A number of world maps were pinned to the ceiling as well as a Jamaican flag and there was a large black and white photograph of the road outside from many years ago. A pool table was in one leg of the L, with a model aeroplane suspended from the ceiling above. At the rear was one wall made up of old loudspeaker cabinets, and a chalk board indicated a list of forthcoming bands. A number of trophies were around the pub, presumably for a sports team of some sort, whilst a TV screen was showing a football match, although the volume was off so this was not too intrusive.

Beers on tap were Wye Valley Poldark, Sundowner, Tribute and Trelawney. Ciders were well represented with Thatcher’s Gold, Wilkins Farmhouse, Stowford Press, Symonds Founders Reserve, Lilley’s Bee Sting and Lilley’s Apple & Pear. All in all, a very pleasant pub in a slightly unlikely area.

The Plough Inn looked like a pretty grim pub from the outside,so i could not wait to go inside to see how bad it was.
Once inside the bar faces is a roughly oblong shaped room which runs to the rear.
The floor is bare boarded, the seating wood bench seating and chairs to the front right, there is a pool table to the front left, there is also a DJ rig to the rear right.
To my surprise there were three real ales and one real cider on the bar,i had a drink of St Austell Cornish Best, which was a very nice drink, the other real ales were St Austell HSB and Bass.
Background music was playing.
Despite the looks from the outside, this was a very pleasant pub inside.
