The new owners have completely trashed what was a fairly decent pub - although not one to spend a Saturday night in unless you were a nutter or a 16-year old slapper. It used to do decent lunches. They've gone. It used to do a happy hour. It's gone. It used to host bands. They've had the bum's rush. It's crap. I went in there one Thursday night with a pal and we doubled the crowd. Good prices on selected bottles/pints on Wednesdays and Sundays. Full of underage drinkers on top of the locals making it crowded and noisy inside. The back alley is a little quieter but not the most pleasant place to spend an evening.
