This used to be one of the most popular and busy pubs on the Castleford "pub crawl" circuit. But in the last few years, it's fortunes have faded, The incrowd have deserted Castleford town centre for the new Xscape complex on the outskirts of town and "The Horse & Jockey" has closed and reopened several times during 2006 & 2007. In the winter of 2007 it reopened again with a new name - The CAS BAR.
During the years when the pub was known as "The Jockey", the games room had a horse's head mounted over the pool table, with a cigar in it's mouth!
