More of a sports and music bar than a lounge, with a limited amount of conventional furniture at the front of the main 'U'-shaped servery. More seating in the form of beer-barrel seats and high table in the centre and far side (with this section hou... [more>]

No surprises here: just a bog-standard chain restaurant with numerous dining areas and a separated bar (mostly for the 'benefit' of those staying at the adjacent Travelodge, one suspects), all with the expected anonymous semi-modern furniture and dec... [more>]

Micro-pub / craft beer bar / bottle shop with a light modern interior but limited seating and a standing shelf opposite the compact counter. An interesting selection of nine keg beers in a variety of styles was available from the taps on the bar-bac... [more>]

Substantial pub / restaurant in a prime position with a large veranda overlooking Powell's Pool reservoir. It happened to be the first evening open after a period of closure for refurbishment, and not having visited before I'm not sure what's change... [more>]

Called in the other day after visiting the Albert. Large bar counter on the right with numerous keg fonts. Asked (just to make sure) if they had any cask ales. Answer in the negative.

Greene King pub in the GBG. Enough staff to deal with the hordes of undecided, perusing the options available but clogging the bar. Mainly setup for dining but a nice row of high stools, with a view over Petersham Meadows. Just had to move the kids... [more>]

Off the beaten track but the GBG convinced me to come and visit. The pub is wonderful - freehouse, central island bar, wood burning fire, blood red chesterfields. Very friendly bar staff. Beer was a little disappointing. A tired TT Landlord - whic... [more>]

Not often I disagree with the Good Beer Guide but I genuinely dont know how this made it in. Ignoring the clientelle - all prosecco and wine glasses left on the dirty tables - this had three cask pumps with only one operational. That beer was from S... [more>]

Our visit here was very short, as the young woman behind the bar didn't know anything about the beers on offer, didn't know that real ales had to be pulled through, wasn't prepared to offer any tasters, and couldn't get in touch with the person who h... [more>] |
