Harvesters seem to be getting worse. This one, previously The Boldmere, is dank, dismal and devoid of charm, as are those who staff it. Everything about the open plan bar seemed phoney, and the large paved terrace at the back was grubby. The barmaid couldn’t even bring herself to look at us as she scuttled off early, while the cocky barman refused to serve us 15 minutes before time as we “won’t have time to drink it”. It shuts stupidly early in any case. The smell of stale grease indicated what the culinary standard might be. The only thing resembling ale seemed to be Doombar from gas pumps, but as we didn’t get to taste it we can only assume it was as awful as everything else about this place. Given its proximity to ‘Spoons, it’s not even worth coming here for breakfast when staying in the adjacent Travelodge, with which it shares a car park.

Large food pub next with a hotel behind. Breakfast was just finishing when I called. Only Doom Bar on and that wasn't the best. I see no point calling again with the beer choice in the Spoon's next door!

A very large detached Harvester, with a Travel Lodge behind. The place is a winged-corridor style, with white wood-faced gable wings, with a dormer windowed cream faced corridor in between. It has a covered entrance way which looks a little out of character and a rear patio area.

The interior is an open plan room in cream, coffee wood panel, wood panel and brown to name but a few colours. It has a raised floor, where the serving bar can be found. It is really all foody based tables and there is an undressed brick hearth feature in the lower area. The general snazzy carpet is present like in many places of this type. The walls have a mix of old photos and bistro style art on them. There was no TV and the music was general and softly played. The service was fine and the clientele family based, which is why there was a kid's grabbing machine present as well.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Pedigree and Tetley Bitter - which was drinkable.

Another Sutton chain foody place where you wouldn't really go just for a drink, but then you have little choice as they are nearly all like this.
