This is the tap room for the Meanwood brewery. It has been very tastefully done, with cushions everywhere, and extra seating upstairs where there is a gallery that just has to be seen. (Or you could just have a look at my photos, I guess.) On the bar are three hand pumps, all their own beers; surprisingly two of them were milds. I went for the one with the lower strength, which was very good. (You can also see the full range of beers in my photo.) The keg offering varies, and I was told that they had had a tap takeover the previous week. Worth a visit, this small but perfectly formed brewery tap.

Hidden up an alley between the Alfred and Hungry Bear, the small but perfectly formed Meanwood brewery and tap occupies a nice old building. Four cask lines and fourteen keg plus bottles, the keg taps are housed in electric conduit, the cask glasses are an odd shape too (see photos). Bare stone walls with a few bits of interesting art work in the downstairs room, there are two more rooms upstairs, and it's furnished with an eclectic bunch of tables and chairs. Sadly only one Meanwood beer was on (a 7.2% keg Saisson), but the almost locally brewed cask from Wishbone was excellent.

Very nice bar and very nice beer and lager but on our visit no cask meanwood beer could do with a west Yorkshire sparkler for a tight creamy head but apart from that very nice
