Blue Scrumpy left this review about Pump It Up

Micropub with fairly limited opening hours (4 hours on Thursday, Friday & Sunday and 8 hours on a Saturday).

We left it to last, as it doesn't open until 5pm on a Friday and also because it is fairly close to Belper's station.

The front room of this former shop is fairly small and proved to be very cosy, with a large group of well oiled lads having arrived just before us. The barman was friendly enough though and was happy to talk about the beers.

Being owned by Matlock Wolds Farm Brewery, it had 3 of their real ales - To The Bitter End, Reverence & 100 CC. A guest was Brampton Winter Bock and ciders were Heck's Farmhouse Medium & Scrumpy Wasp Nice Pear.

This was the only place in Belper we found that still offers a CAMRA discount. Decent place that would be best visited when quieter.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Pump It Up

We visited this micropub mid Saturday afternoon, so all four of us did manage to get a seat. This former party shop does have limited space and the interior consisted of a small bar area in the right hand corner as you enter. There was a small window seat and a couple of tables and chairs. The walls were painted white and a couple of canvas photographs of poppy fields and a view of the old Mill in Belper added some attraction. My main attraction was the choice ales across the of six handpumps, they also had a choice of five craft keg. I went for the Shiny Disco Balls and the Dancing Duck Gol, both of which were in good shape and the pricing was very reasonable. The manageress and the couple of other drinkers were all very friendly and chatty, so a definite must when visiting Belper.

Will Larter left this review about Pump It Up

A true micropub, with no room to swing a cat and not much for lifting your beer glass once eight or nine people make it through the door. So it was surprising to see six hand pumps here - in fact, I was surprised to see a pub here at all, having not planned to be in Belper and finding the pub there as I stepped off the bus intending to catch a train to Derby. I asked the owner how he got on with that many real ales in such a small space - he said they use some pins as well as firkins, and sell beer on Sundays (open just 1 to 5) at £2.50 per pint, with Monday being closed, and this way any wastage is minimal. My half of Silver Street Ruby 4.7% was spot on, as was the Old Sawley Jobber 4.2% when I accidentally returned here a few days later with a couple of friends, our plans having been scuppered by the strike on Northern Trains so that we ended up on this East Midlands line instead.
