When i first visited this pub with my wife it was Called The Imperial Vaults,a Bass tied house with no real ales on the bar.

No 44 is a smallish single roomed pub with a small serving bar to the front right which had a pump on it with clip turned round,a few keg fonts and cakes.
The seating is normal tables and chairs, the rear area is up one step, the room bare boarded.
I had a drink of Bierra Morrietti which was cold, the other keg lager was San Miguel, they do bottled bitters which were in the fridge.
Queet background music was playing, the pub or bar was also very busy, there is a garden to the rear, but i did'nt look at this, food was being served.
This place seemed quite friendly and there was no problem in just having a drink.

ihave been a regular at the imperial vaults a long time. it has allways been a good pint. nice beer garden in summertime.which attracts customers. pre run by colin sinclaire &family who ruined the place. with boring constant tv sports events which many hated.many walked outdue to his selfish manner &hav,nt come back since.the pub became run down.had several managers.but in dec 2011 greenking appointed dino as manager who has been great running the pub . ive noticed improvement he has restored the aptnospere thats been missing.sadly dino is leaving in jan 2012 due to sale of the pub.all the best dino and thanks.ihope it will be kept on as a pub.i dont know heard rumers of it being a cafe who knows. belper doesnt need another cafe...
