Believe it or not, The George Hotel is a Georgian hotel. A former coaching hotel, in period style, there is a bar behind the check-in area and there is a rear patio. The bar is irregular in shape, in plain colours with tasteful 'Lichfield' art work and things, the service was fine with a clientele of what looked like those stopping at the hotel. No TV or music. 2 real ales: Shropshire Darwin and Backyard Hoard (which was fine). Better than I thought.
