Adjacent to the Oval cricket ground, the Cricketers was not only handy for the cricket fans but was also one of the better known music pubs in London, hosting many well known acts (I saw the likes of Desmond Decker, Man, Blodwyn Pig and Wilko Jonhson in here) and showcasing new bands. It has sadly been closed for many years and suffered badly from squatters. From its current state of dilapidation, it seems unlikely to open again and to be honest, I am surprised it is even still standing.
