Accessed of an alley in the middle of the building or through the adjoining front door, this is a modern trendy bar which opens out slightly at the rear. A bit basic and doesn't feel comfortable it does serve the Derby beer which was kept ok

This is the Derby Brewery Tap pub with several of their beers available. Its modern interior décor reminded me of some of the Leeds Brewery pubs and I actually like the bright modern interior with its light wood floor and bar and mixed clean white and stripped back light brick walls. The bar is in two sections either side of the central room partitioning with Derby Brewery pumps on both sides. Excalibur, Pennys Porter, Business as Usual, Old Intentional, triple Hop and Autumn Ale was on from the brewery and Magpie JPA was on as a guest.
The Penny’s Porter was a very nice beer and I found this a lively and enjoyable place to drink it.

Tap for the Derby brewery. Enter to the main bar with a dining area directly behind. The main bar is a mix of exposed brick and plasterboard walls. A stove fire and bits of artwork are in place but otherwise there’s little else of note; ‘minimalist’ is good word used below to describe it. I only noted six pumps with three ales on the crescent-shaped bar, however there must have been more farther round (blame the PuG bar-blockers?!). After a fairly rough Derby beer at the Smithfield earlier on in day I was a bit reticent but went for the Penny's Porter and to be fair it was a good beer in good shape and slipped down easily. It was decent enough place overall but I didn’t feel compelled to put it on the must-do list of Derby, it lacks charm.
