Definitely making the most of its prime riverside location and majoring on the tourist market, this imposing building features a long and well-fitted bar, liberally endowed with nautical and timekeeping memorabilia, with numerous windows looking out over the Thames just above water level (at high tide!). The far end is the restaurant area while there are other function rooms upstairs. There are a few slightly annoying commercial tweaks but overall it is an impressive place. A clutch of handpumps offered five beers from Adnams and Admiral (Chatham Dockyard), with some mainstream craft on the series of keg fonts. I can't say I would use it as my local but it is worth a visit, especially trailing some overseas visitors round.

Really nice riverside location next to the old Royal naval college. Interior a celebration of all things trafalgar/nelson. 6 real ales and food served.

A mentioned, this is an imposing riverside pub dating from 1837 so depending on which side of 20th June 1837 it was built, it's either Georgian or Victorian with an interior that is fairly ornate Regency albeit 25 years too late. In effect it looks like a grand hotel and overall is very attractive, and accords with the description submitted below by Mr. Man; that's the good bit. The restaurant room, bar area and side annex were extremely stygian though not so that I couldn't see the ugly condiment bottles on the tables; only the entrance room seemed to have any illumination. It seemed that we had arrived on quiz night; I don't know if each quiz is music-themed, but this was and snippets of songs were being blasted out of monitor speakers by the quizmaster at deafening levels - I've never been to a pub quiz that is trying to out decibel The Who. Most of the customers seemed to be students from the neighbouring University of Greenwich. I did wonder if this place doubled as the student union bar.
Ales: Nelson Brewery's Trafalgar and IPA, Sharp's Doom Bar and Adnam's Mosaic and Broadside at £4.50 a pint which is less than The Yacht next door, a Taylor Walker pub no less; it was as good as Broadside ever gets.
We drank up sharpish and left, to avoid getting tinnitus. I didn't care much for this place and don't envisage a return visit - The Cutty Sark, a few hundred yards to the east is far superior.
