Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sir Timothy Shelley (JD Wetherspoon)

Not a very interesting-looking 'spoons, proving even duller inside unfortunately... Dark too, apart from a small covered yard with a glass roof. With the usual fit-out, the only thing of note was the display of pump clips in the stairwell leading to the upstairs toilets. Eight of the ten handpumps were in use when I visited, with real ales including Smokestack Lightnin' from Dorking (£2.45) and a couple of strong local beers from Arundel and Langham. NB - Almost directly opposite the company's larger Three Fishes, and currently for sale or let.

This is the older of the two Worthing Spoons having opened in December 2000. It's not an identikit Spoons like those that opened in London and other places in the 20th Century but is more typical than the neighbouring Three Fishes. On my Saturday morning visit there were some daytime Spoons brigade types in but they were not a problem.
A pavement hoarding at the entrance announced three permanent guests, London Pride, Dark Star American Pale Ale and Oakleaf India Pale Ale (shame about the London Pride).
On the bar there are two sets of five hand pumps that also included the two GK beers, Directors, Whale Ale Ruby Moby, Long Man Copper Hop, Triple fff I Can't Remember and Caledonian Harpoon The Long Thaw. I went for the Copper Hop and the Oakleaf India Pale Ale both of which were in good nick although the Copper Hop had a slight haze. I returned later for a mixed grill and a couple of pints of Triple fff I Can't Remember which all went down a treat.
The better beer choice in this one means it outscores the Three Fishes in my book.

Situated almost opposite its sister Spoons, the Sir Timothy is the normal JDW brand so no music inside. Brighter and more airy than the Three Fishes with a central skylight and some stylised porthole windows to the rear. Five guests over 10 pumps, my Dorking was decent though probably towards the fag-end of the barrel – I suspect 30 minutes earlier it would have been spot-on. Service a little bit slow. Not quite as good as the one over the road but decent enough.
