Real Ale Ray left this review about The Phoenix

We popped in here on Friday eve and the pub was very busy. They had a guitarist playing on our visit, who was so loud you had to shout to order your pint. We quickly made our escape to an upstairs room, which turned out to be a function room, where a DJ was setting up for a party. He agreed that the volume of the music downstairs was OTT. We managed to enjoy our Bradfield Farmers Blonde in peace, before heading on.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Central

Refurbished pub, apparently named after the original Central station (not to be confused with Leeds City station, now often called 'Central''). Dark-wood interior, with various seating areas in a generally 'L'-shaped layout. Four handpumps on the bar counter: Black Sheep bitter, two from Ilkley Brewery - Lady Jane and Joshua Jane - and Saltaire Sovereign Harvest (£3.80). Surprisingly quiet on a Friday night, so I was left wondering exactly who the target market was.

ROB Camra left this review about The Wellington

I used to work just across the road from this pub. At the time it was a Scruffy Murphys and if you know that, it's still fairly obvious in places despite the refurb. It's now selling itself as a "Rock & Ale" bar. I don't know what the Rock is like but the Ale selection left a lot to be desired, Old Speckled Hen and that's it, although there was another pump with the clip turned round. The OSH was OK but not great. It's one large room with a raised area to the left of the door. Lots of low sofas and some high tables and stools. I couldn't come up with a reason to visit here when it was Scruffy Murphys and I'm struggling to think of a reason why I would ever call in again. If I desperately needed a beer whilst in the vicinity I'd go to the Old Steps round the corner for a pint of Leeds Pale or Best rather than drink OSH here.
