Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Boathouse

The much more modern (and larger) of the two Rushall canal-side pubs, with a substantial outdoor patio garden by the water and three main rooms inside. The biggest of these has a remarkable, and possibly unique, barge-shaped seating area? The other two also have their own counters from the central serving area. Disappointingly, neither of the handpumps was in use, so made do with a John Smith's (£3.10) before heading back to Walsall.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Boat House

A large low-level winged-corridor modern pub, in cream render with red paintwork, which sits by the canal. It has a beer patio and garden with nice views of the canal.

The interior is interesting and fun. There is a front room which has a pool table and dart board, which i saw briefly, along with a brick fireplace. The main L-shaped room if partitioned a little. It is in white, red, coffee wood panel in parts, with a green stained wood ceiling. It has several TVs, mainly off at my last visit thought one had Ascot on. The music is general and at a decent level. The interest is supplied by the canal memorabilia dotted about and the seating made out in the shape of a canal barge, with decor to match, that is about to go into a 'tunnel'. We ate here and the food was fine and not expensive. The staff were friendly and the clientele, though mixed, were more to the younger side and families - perhaps the Manor Arms next door takes more of the oldies!

Beer was the usual taps, with Theakston's Dark Smooth MILD, which i know is fakey, but is still nice. There is a single real ale - that being Caledonian Blonde, which was well kept

On a personal note, it is more of a place I would visit for one, and to eat. Saying that, you could do a lot worse than come here. They have music nights and plenty of space. Give it a go!

Andy Ven left this review about The Boat House

Like the neighbouring Manor Arms, the Boat House (formerly Rushall Liberal Club)in the Daw End part of Rushall is especially popular with people attracted by sitting outside next to the Hatherton & Rushall Canal.
