The Turks Head was renamed as the Seven Bar before losing it's licence due to a series of violent incidents. It now has a new owner who has vowed to turn the place around. it is supposed to be reverting back to it's original name and has been granted a licence to open for 4 weekends in the run up to Christmas. I have no idea what the future holds!

UPDATE: This is a Victorian pub, formerly a hotel, with patio, that has since extended into the neighbouring building. The original building is in brick, with moulded stone (including the hotel name) around the upper windows with fantastic glazed tiling on the lower frontage pilasters. The neighbouring building is in a Georigan style by the look of it, but is plain in comparison, especially as the windows have been replaced with unsympathetic ones. The interior is a mix. The front room is the bar. It is in red, light and dark grey wood, with an upper area that was being used as a music stage for some loud pre-set music - part partitioned off by a fireplace feature. There were no real pictures and the clientele here were shouting along to the music, which was enough for me to move to the back area. This is in red and dark grey, with a few bistro pictures. Off this is a room in yellow and wood, which has a pool table, table footy game and a dart board - there was an inter-pub match on. The back are was much nicer. There were TVs in both main rooms - one having silent soaps on. The service was functional. Beer; no real ale, just usual keg stuff with M&B MILD - i had a shandy and got out. Nothing for the real ale fan - but a good place for Sgt Majors to train their vocal chords.

Currently boarded up - but it looks like it is being refurbed as we speak
